IWPG Global Region 2 held a meeting to promote women's empowerment and peace cooperation in Libya.



-  Members of the Libyan government and women's organizations discussed continuous peace exchange agreements.




International Women's Peace Group (IWPG), Global Region 2 (Regional Director Seoyeon Lee), held an online meeting on the 10th with eight attendees, including Rabeeah A S Abouras, a member of the House of Representatives of Libya, Aisha E E Shalabi, a member of Parliament, and Abdaraouf Twati, from the Nana Maron Association for Charity and Awareness. The meeting aimed to realize peace and resolve conflicts.


The Nana Maron Association for Charity and Awareness plays an important role in addressing issues such as vulnerable education systems, food security, healthcare, and supporting internally displaced persons caused by conflicts within Libya.


During the meeting, activities of various women’s organizations aimed at promoting women's empowerment, peacebuilding, and conflict resolution in Libya were introduced. IWPG showcased initiatives such as the "Peace Lecturer Training Education (PLTE)" and projects to spread a culture of peace.


Seoyeon Lee, Global Director, emphasized, "The diverse and exemplary peace activities of Libyan women are essential for themselves and their future. Now is the time for women around the world to unite to realize practical peace in our lives."


In response, Representative Rabeeah stated, "I am deeply moved by IWPG's global peace activities. I hope that IWPG will continue to have a significant impact on the peace activities of Libyan women, and I look forward to receiving much advice." She also promised continuous exchange and cooperation with IWPG.


Meanwhile, IWPG is a global women’s NGO registered with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Department of Global Communications (DGC). It has 114 branches and members in 122 countries, and about 730 partner organizations in 66 countries. With a vision of "realizing sustainable world peace," IWPG is actively working to spread solidarity the world needs, promote a culture of peace, provide women's peace education, and advocate for the legislation of the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).
