Discussion on a Sustainable Peace Exchange Agreement with the Yemeni Government



The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Region 2 (Regional Director SeoYeon Lee) held an online meeting on January 16 to realize peace, with eight participants, including Hamama Othman Ahmed Qasim Al Sanawi, Director of the Women's Affairs Department at the Yemeni Presidential Office; Dr. Maryam Aldoghani, Head of the International Relief Support Team at the Presidential Office; Bahiya Al-Saqqaf, Director of the Financial Affairs Department at the Ministry of Finance; and Sabah Badri, Director of Youth Affairs, Sports Department/Secretariat.


During this meeting, IWPG shared its vision and goals, explaining its four major initiatives:

▲ Legislative support and advocacy activities to ensure that the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW) is enacted as international law ▲ Women’s Peace Education

▲ The Loving Peace Art Competition, a peace culture project


The attendees expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate on DPCW and Women’s Peace Education, stating, “We are thankful for the chance to cooperate and contribute to realizing peace in Yemen. We felt the shared language and values of peace.”


This meeting marked an important step toward a strong partnership between Yemen and IWPG, raising expectations for further international cooperation in realizing peace.


Meanwhile, IWPG is a global women’s NGO registered with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Department of Global Communications (DGC). It has 114 branches in 123 countries and collaborates with over 808 organizations in 68 countries. With the vision of achieving sustainable world peace, IWPG is actively engaged in expanding necessary solidarity that the world needs, spreading a culture of peace, providing women’s peace education, and supporting and advocating for the DPCW legislation.
